Monument Signs
A monument sign is the freestanding sign at the entrance of a residential community, office park, medical building, school or shopping plaza. It is often the first thing a visitor sees, and it has to be easy to read from a car, look right with the architecture and stand up to Miami sun, rain and hurricane-season wind.
We design, fabricate and install monument signs for properties across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, such as the Eagle Cove at Doral community entrance shown above. We build them in our Miami shop with materials chosen for South Florida weather, and we manage the permit and approval process so the design you sign off on is the one that goes up.
The main decisions are the structure and base, the face of the sign (dimensional letters, routed or painted aluminum panels, logos), the lighting and any address numbers or tenant panels. We walk you through each one with mockups on your actual entrance.
Raised letters and logos on a wall or base, in painted or brushed finishes.
Durable faces with cut-out lettering or applied graphics.
LED lighting for visibility after dark, built into the sign or aimed at it.
Signs for condominiums, HOAs and residential developments.
Multi-tenant panels and property identification for commercial sites.
Address numbers and directional signs that match the main monument.
Explore each service: channel letters, lightbox signs, storefront signs, outdoor signs, vehicle wraps and ADA signs.
A monument sign is a freestanding structure, so it usually needs more than a simple wall-sign permit. Depending on the city and the property, the application can require structural drawings, foundation details and a site plan, and the size, height and distance from the property line depend on the zoning. In Miami-Dade, signs must also meet the county's wind-load requirements.
Communities and plazas often have their own approval step on top of the city: an HOA board, a landlord or a property manager. We prepare the drawings and the application and coordinate the approvals, so you are not stuck between the design and the permit.
General guidance on how sign permits work is on our sign permits page.
We install monument signs throughout Miami-Dade County and in Broward and Palm Beach. Local examples: Doral, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
Our shop is in Miami, where every sign is fabricated before it goes to your property.
